Farmers & Merchants State Bank is currently accepting applications for the following positions:

 Job Title: E-Commerce / Customer Service Specialist

Job Location: Operations Center – Archbold, OH  

Job Summary: Functions primarily as a member of the E-Commerce Support staff to perform the day-to-day tasks related to the department.  Accurately and efficiently serves customers by providing phone and email support for Online and Mobile Banking and associated products.  Will provide sales and service support for Commercial Digital Products including Business Online Banking, Remote Deposit Capture and ACH. Plays a role in the support of designing, modifying and implementing enhancements to the digital channels.

Job Duties: Utilize sales training skills to provide outstanding customer service.  Assist the E-Commerce Manager in coordination and expansion of digital products and services.  Sell and support commercial Online Banking products to our commercial customers.  Gain knowledge and remain up to date on changes and developments in e-commerce and the payments industry.  Effectively manage large amount of incoming calls and ensures that issues are resolved both promptly and thoroughly.  Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction.  Provide phone and email customer support for Online and Mobile Banking customers or other customer support calls.  Keep records of customer interactions, process customer agreements and file documents.   Comply and satisfactorily pass tests for bank policy and regulations that apply to position.                 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred. Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Excellent verbal and written (face-to-face and phone) communication skills.  Must have a high level of knowledge of mobile devices, computer operating systems and internet browsers.  Knowledge of technical support issues related to Internet connectivity and PC troubleshooting experience a plus.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures and software instructions.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively one on one or in a group setting of customers or employees of organization.   Valid Driver’s License. Strong project management skills with proven track record of delivering high quality work under tight deadlines.  Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook software.  Must have strong telephone communication skills.  Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively. Very detailed oriented and ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of the organization.  Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast moving environment and react quickly under pressure.

Job Title: Credit Analyst

Job Location: Main Office, Archbold OH

Job Summary: Responsible for evaluating the financial condition of individuals and businesses applying for credit in order to strengthen the overall quality of the loan portfolio

Job Duties:   Analyze loan data on new, renewal and existing loans, including data provided by customers, credit bureaus, other financial institutions and financial institution files. Assess, analyze and interpret customer financial information. Prepare spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for Bank officers, management and Board of Directors on new, renewal and existing loans.  Make joint customer calls at the request of loan officers.  Perform credit inquiries for the financial institution as requested.  Provide training, technical advice and assistance to loan officers as needed.  Establish, review and update new and existing loan files for the financial institution on a regular basis. Comply and satisfactorily pass tests for bank policy and regulations that apply to position.    Utilize sales training skills to provide outstanding customer service. 

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in accounting from four-year college or university; or two or more years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of accounting, tax laws, loan policies and underwriting, and spreadsheet applications. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply financial concepts such as present value, fractions, percentages and ratios.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Valid driver’s license.
