Farmers & Merchants State Bank is currently accepting applications for the following positions:

Job Title: IRA / H.S.A. Administrator

Job Location: Archbold, OH – Main Office

Job Summary: Responsible for IRA portfolio and training related to IRAs for CSRs and broader employee base. Responsible for HSA portfolio and training related to HSAs for CSRs and broader employee base.

Job Duties: Utilize sales training skills to provide outstanding customer service. Review IRA and HSA transactions for accuracy and documentation purposes.  Provide training and support regarding IRAs and HSAs to Bank staff.  Maintain IRA & HSA documentation and IRA & HSA files.  Review reports in preparation of IRA/HSA Year-End Reports.  Process SIMPLE IRA deposits and HSA deposits submitted via checks.  Make annual visits to SIMPLE Employers as required.  Work with employers to present HSA opportunities, make employee presentations as needed, and establish new HSA accounts through employers.  Maintain IRA and HSA manuals.  Reconcile related accounts in a timely manner:  GL 238501/IRA Holdover Account (weekly and monthly).  Review deposit administration documentation and follow-up on all identified issues (sticky notes) with CSRs.  Track and retain all items for additional training and performance reviews as necessary.  Serve as back-up CDARS Administrator.  Assist with BPM training to new and existing deposit account representatives as needed and provide on-going deposit administration support.  Comply and satisfactorily pass tests for bank policy and regulatory compliance that apply to position.

Qualifications: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Understanding and experience working with I.R.A and H.S.A’s is preferred. Excellent verbal and written (face-to-face and phone) communication skills.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures and software instructions.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively one on one or in a group setting of customers or employees of organization.   Valid Driver’s License. Strong project management skills with proven track record of delivering high quality work under tight deadlines.  Must have experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook software.  Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively. Detailed oriented and ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of the organization.

Job Title: Customer Service Representative (CSR) - Full time   

Job Location: Waterville, OH

Job Summary: Assist customers by opening new accounts and provide clerical support.

Job Duties:  Utilize sales training skills to provide outstanding customer service, coach staff members on service skills. Provide efficient and courteous customer service, cross-sell products and services to generate new business for the bank and FM Investments. Open deposit accounts, answer phones and direct to appropriate person. Provide administrative assistance to lenders and back up as a teller.

Job Qualifications: An individual who has a high school diploma and one to two years’ related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience will best fill this position. This person will have the ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos, effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees of the bank. Knowledge of our bank products and services will be a plus and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook along with Navigator will be required.

Job Title: Teller / CSR - Full time  

Job Location: Napoleon, OH

Job Summary: This person will accept cash items from customers for deposit, handle withdrawals and deposits from savings and checking accounts and take loan and credit card payments. Cash checks within the limits of the Bank policies, cross sell and refer customers for various bank products and services.  Assist customers by opening new accounts and provide clerical support.

Job Duties: Sell bank products and services while using the sales skills taught in sales training. Receive and issue receipts for checking, savings account deposits and other customer transactions. Cash checks in accordance with bank procedures and ensure that funds are appropriately disbursed and collected.  Balance cash drawer and report any discrepancies to the Teller Supervisor as necessary.  Make concentrated effort to solve customer problems.  Run back counter processing system, balance ATM and other reconciliation as directed by supervisor.  Promote the bank’s services and cross-sell bank products, including FM Investments.  Comply and satisfactorily pass tests regarding bank policy and regulations that apply to position.
